Everth Cabrera's legal team has rejected a plea deal and a trial for an alleged misdemeanor assault upon his wife has been set for June 11. "Mr. Cabrera loves his wife and is committed to being a devoted family man. ... We strongly believe our client will prevail at trial," Cabrera's lawyer, Richard Suzuki said. The Padres happen to have an off day on June 11, so Cabrera, who is currently serving as the team's starter at shortstop, might not have to miss a game.
