Everth Cabrera could be demoted on Monday by the Padres. It would amount to a one-day stay with San Diego. Cabrera was called up on Sunday because Jason Bartlett is on the paternity leave list. Bartlett's wife Kelly gave birth to the couple's second child Sunday and he is expected to rejoin the Padres in Florida Tuesday. Cabrera went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run in Sunday's game. Cabrera, 24, hit .305 with Triple-A Tucson with two homers, 13 RBI, 23 steals and 12 errors in 45 games.
