Estevez is not a lock for a spot in the Rockies bullpen to start the season, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The young reliever spent a chunk of the summer as Colorado's closer, converting 11 of 18 save opportunities. However, his 5.24 ERA left much to be desired, and given the multitude of veteran options brought in to bolster the bullpen, Estevez is on the fringe of the major league roster. It seems most likely that the 24-year-old will start the year at Triple-A Albuquerque and shuttle up to the big leagues as needed.
