ESPN Chicago's Bruce Levine was told by two sources that the Dodgers are close to acquiring Carlos Marmol from the Cubs. Marmol was designated for assignment by the Cubs last week, but multiple teams have shown interest in taking him on as a reclamation project. It's not known who the Cubs would receive in return, but Levine hears that the Dodgers will absorb some of the $5 million still owed to Marmol for this season. Accomplishing that would be a win from the Cubs' perspective.
