Escobar jammed his right thumb in Thursday's loss to St. Louis and was replaced by Geovany Soto at third base. Perhaps more concerning for Escobar is that the Angels recalled infielder Jefry Marte on Friday and he was immediately plugged into the lineup at third base. At this point, Escobar appears to be day-to-day, but it's unclear if his thumb injury will be sufficiently healed enough for him to get back on the field Saturday.
