Ellsbury (knee) hopes to return before the end of June, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. Ellsbury hit the disabled list in mid-May with a knee sprain, and was originally given a six-week timetable for a return. If he's able to rejoin the Yankees before the end of the month, the outfielder would be on the early end of that estimate. He was able to take batting practice and work out on the field Friday, and could soon be cleared for a rehab assignment if he continues on this trajectory.
