Ellsbury (hip) is not in the lineup Monday against Kansas City, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

As expected, Ellsbury will remain out for the third straight game as he continues to deal with a hip injury. Manager Joe Girardi said Sunday that the team is not expecting a DL stint, but it'll ultimately depend on whether or not Ellsbury makes tangible progress over the next few days. Aaron Hicks will get another start in center field Monday, while Brett Gardner serves as the leadoff man for the third consecutive game.
