Ellsbury (elbow) will be evaluated Thursday to determine if a DL stint will be required, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellsbury has missed the last two games with a bruised nerve in his left elbow that he sustained while making a catch against the outfield wall, being replaced by Aaron Hicks in center field on both occasions. With the Yankees set to start road series against the Cubs and Reds, they'll lose the benefit of the DH, which may have otherwise been an option to ease Ellsbury back into the lineup. Either way, it sounds like a decision may be reached on the club's off day Thursday or before Friday's tilt in Chicago.
