Ellsbury (concussion) said Wednesday that he was feeling well and hasn't experienced any renewed headaches, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellsbury wasn't able to take batting practice as anticipated Wednesday, but it doesn't sound like it's a result of any unexpected setback and he may still be able to perform the activity later in the week. The outfielder could head out on a rehab assignment soon after he resumes batting practice and may be ready to rejoin the Yankees by early July, though no official timetable has been established. Ellsbury will have to settle for a reserve role upon returning after manager Joe Girardi made a commitment to Aaron Hicks as the team's everyday center fielder.
