Cannon (5-10) earned the win Sunday, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks over five innings against the Tigers. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon was staked with a rare 5-0 lead and carried it into the fifth but three walks in the inning led to a two-out grand slam by Kerry Carpenter that spoiled Cannon's final line. Despite the disappointing end to his outing, the White Sox later provided four additional insurance runs and Cannon was able to escape with his fifth win in 15 decisions. The 24-year-old righty finished his initial big-league campaign making 21 starts among 23 appearances, posting a 4.49 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with 91 strikeouts across 124.1 innings.
