The St. Louis Cardinals placed outfielder Dylan Carlson (thumb) on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb sprain on Wednesday and selected the contract of outfielder Alec Burleson from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. The Cardinals also designated outfielder Conner Capel for assignment to clear room for Burleson.
