Dustin McGowan struggled Tuesday in his first major league appearance since July of 2008, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks over four relief innings in a loss to the Red Sox. The good news, though, is that McGowan's fastball was touching 96 mph and he struck out five over his four frames. It's a great story, as McGowan's career had been in serious jeopardy due to a series of shoulder an arm injuries. He could wind up getting some starts down the stretch.
