Dustin McGowan did a solid job in a no-decision against the Yankees Friday, giving up three runs on three hits and two walks over five innings in a 5-4 win.
McGowan found out he was starting just a couple hours before first pitch, as scheduled starter Brett Cecil cut up his finger. He left with the lead, but the Blue Jays' bullpen wasn't able to hold it. Not surprisingly, McGowan hasn't been terrible sharp in his first three outings since 2008, posting a 7.50 ERA. He'll get another star next week against the Angels.
