Drew has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Yankees, CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports. The deal will be worth close to $5 million, with incentives that could bring it up to $7 million. Prior to the deal to bring back Drew, the Yankees were probably looking at Robert Refsnyder being the starting second baseman, so it is understandable that the Yankees wanted to add some depth at the keystone. Drew will also be able to play some shortstop, but Didi Gregorious figures to get the majority of the work there. Last season was a disaster for Drew, as he was unable to sign with a team before the start of the season, and ended up posting a .162 average with seven home runs in 300 plate appearances. However, a lot of that was bad luck, as he posted a .194 BABIP. His batting average should rebound closer to his .256 career average, but he is unlikely to add much in terms of counting stats.
