Dr. Lewis Yocum confirmed that Danny Duffy has a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. Yocum confirmed the initial diagnosis by Royals head physician Dr. Key. Duffy will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery in Los Angeles within the next two weeks and figures to miss the early part of the 2013 campaign. It's disappointing given the improvement he showed this season, but there's still plenty of promise here in the long-term.
