Doubront will be stretched out as a starter during spring training, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Doubront made eight starts after joining the Athletics last season but struggled his way to a 5.81 ERA and 1.443 WHIP. He'll compete for a spot in the back of the rotation this spring but he could wind up working out of the bullpen.
