Doubront is scheduled for a second opinion on his left elbow sprain next Monday in Cincinnati, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Doubront will visit with Dr. Timothy Cremchek to determine the extent of the injury, but Nick Paparesta, the Athletics' head trainer, confirmed that the lefty has some "fibrous tearing" in his elbow ligament, according to Joe Stiglich of CSN Bay Area. Whether or not surgery is ordered up, Doubront appears to be facing a long recovery, which could open the door for Jesse Hahn to enter the rotation.
