Doubront (forearm) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Doubront was expected to open the season as the Atheletics' fifth starter, but this ends that plan. The issue originally cropped up on Saturday during his final spring appearance, and the results of an MRI apparently showed enough to put the left-hander on the shelf. Jesse Hahn or Eric Surkamp are likely to take his spot in the rotation. In a corresponding move, Andrew Lambo was recalled from Triple-A Nashville.
