Doolittle (shoulder) will be activated off the disabled list Tuesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Doolittle's potential return Tuesday was first reported Saturday, but now it can be returned. He was due to be evaluated again Monday after throwing Sunday, and apparently the prognosis was good. He'll rejoin the Athletics bullpen Tuesday, but isn't slated to serve as the closer initially. However, he's expected to retake the role at some point.
