Doolittle (shoulder) is still without a timetable to resume throwing, CSN Bay Area reports. A's manager Bob Melvin said Doolittle is progressing well but the lefty remains limited to strengthening exercises. Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle suggested last month that the "general consensus" seemed to be that Doolittle might not miss much regular-season time, but an estimated return date will remain up in the air until he is cleared to pick up a baseball. Tyler Clippard is expected to serve as the A's closer in Doolittle's absence.
