Doolittle (shoulder) is ready to begin a rehab assignment, Joe Stiglich of CSN reports. After making it through a live batting practice session Monday, Doolittle will begin a rehab stint, though manager Bob Melvin said he's unsure where Doolittle will be sent. He also noted that he doesn't know how many rehab appearances Doolittle will make, but it's possible the reliever could be back with the A's before the end of May.
