Doolittle (oblique) played catch from 90 feet out Tuesday, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports. The A's shut Doolittle down for more than a week after he suffered an oblique injury late last month, but the lefty's ability to start back up with his throwing program puts a return next Monday when first eligible well within the realm of possibility. Eric O'Flaherty successfully converted his lone save opportunity and has posted strong numbers this season, but there's little-to-no doubt Doolittle will reassume closing duties immediately upon activation.
