Doolittle (oblique) is expected to come off the DL on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Evidently, Doolittle felt no ill effects Thursday morning after throwing 20 pitches to hitters standing in the box Wednesday, as manager Bob Melvin said he "fully expects" to have the lefty back for Friday's series opener against Seattle. Doolittle, who owns an otherworldly 80:5 K:BB this season, should immediately return the closer role.
