Dodgers placed OF Juan Rivera on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring. He'll be out more than the minimum two weeks, as manager Don Mattingly has described the injury as "fairly major," "significant" and "not just a strain." Scott Van Slyke has been called up from Triple-A Albuquerque, but it figures to be Bobby Abreu and Tony Gwynn Jr. that receive most of the starts in left field.
