The Jays took on Rivera's $5.25 million salary this offseason in order to unload Vernon Wells' bloated contract on the Angels. Toronto DFA'd Rivera last week. The 33-year-old outfielder has batted just .176 since June 16 and is hitting only .243 on the year with a .666 OPS. It also doesn't help that he's been a butcher in the outfield. He could use a change of scenery. With the Dodgers, expect him to be used against left-handed pitchers, a platoon role he should acclimate well to.
