Diamondbacks purchased the contract of 1B Paul Goldschmidt from Double-A Mobile. As expected. Goldschmidt is expected to see most of the playing time at first base now that Brandon Allen was traded to the Athletics. The 23-year-old was batting .306/.435/.626 with 30 homers, 94 RBI and a 1.061 OPS over 457 plate appearances with Double-A Mobile this season. He has big-time power potential and should immediately be scooped up in NL-only leagues.
