Diamondbacks placed SS Chris Owings on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 26, with a sore left shoulder. Owings is set to have his shoulder examined by the team doctor on Monday, but the club isn't waiting to put him on the disabled list. More will obviously be known about a potential timetable after he's examined. Nick Ahmed has replaced Owings on the roster and should share time at shortstop with Didi Gregorius.
