Diamondbacks optioned LHP Tyler Skaggs to Triple-A Reno. It had been assumed that the D'Backs would carry Skaggs until Brandon McCarthy returns from the disabled list, but the lefty lost his spot after allowing five runs in each of his last two starts. It's not clear at this point who the D'Backs will use in the fifth spot.
