Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers expressed optimism Tuesday that the club will be able to re-sign Daniel Hudson. Hudson was non-tendered by the Diamondbacks on Monday, but the two sides were close in negotiations and simply ran out of time before the 11:59 p.m. ET deadline. The 26-year-old is now free to sign elsewhere, but Towers believes something will get done. Hudson is expected to miss most of 2014 while recovering from his second Tommy John surgery. He hasn't thrown a pitch in the majors since June 26, 2012.
