Diamondbacks designated 1B Lars Anderson for assignment. Anderson hit just .250/.353/.396 with nine homers and 59 RBI in 111 games between Boston and Arizona's Triple-A affiliates in 2012. But he was considered a top prospect not long ago and could draw interest from other teams. The move was made to clear roster space following the Justin Upton trade, which involved seven total players.
