The Arizona Diamondbacks have called up relief pitcher Matt Andriese from High-A Visalia and second baseman Ildemaro Vargas from Triple-A Reno. In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks have placed starting pitcher Zack Godley on the paternity leave list. Andriese was acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays by the Diamondbacks ahead of the July 31 non-waiver deadline and will perform in a long relief role once returning to the Diamondbacks.
