Diamondbacks acquired SS John McDonald and 2B Aaron Hill from the Blue Jays for 2B Kelly Johnson. McDonald was mostly a throw-in, but he'll provide needed depth at shortstop for the Diamondbacks, who will be without Stephen Drew (fractured ankle) down the stretch. McDonald, 36, has a weak .606 career OPS. He'll become a free agent this winter.
