Ramirez was optioned to the Cardinals' alternate training site just over a month ago, and he'll now be removed from the 40-man roster to make room for Dexter Fowler (not injury related), who was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Monday. The right-hander didn't fare very well in his major-league debut earlier this season, allowing six runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning.
