Despite retiring just two of the five batters he faced, David Robertson picked up a save against the Angels on Monday. The Yankees had to go it without Mariano Rivera tonight, and they chose Boone Logan to start the ninth over Robertson. He retired one of the two hitters he faced. Robertson came in and walked Mike Trout, gave up an RBI double to Josh Hamilton and intentionally walked Erick Aybar before striking out both Mark Trumbo and Chris Nelson on pitches out of the strike zone. Robertson didn't have his best stuff tonight after pitching both Friday and Sunday, but he had just enough to get the job done.
