Desmond Jennings went 2-for-2 with a double and a stolen base as a Rays split-squad edged the Red Sox 3-2 on Saturday.

The Rays considered adding a center fielder and leaving Jennings in left this year, but since it didn't work out, Jennings will be B.J. Upton's replacement. Still to be determined is just how high he'll bat in the order. Ideally, he'd step up and become the Rays' leadoff man. He needs to make more contact, though, after hitting .246 and posting a .314 OBP last year.
