Atlanta needed to clear a 40-man roster spot in order to activate Max Fried (forearm) from the 60-day injured list, and Guthrie is the roster casualty. He hit .306 with zero home runs and one steal in 10 games with Triple-A Gwinnett since Atlanta claimed him off waivers from the Giants on July 13.
