Derek Holland struggled in his first spring training start on Friday, surrendering one run on six hits over his three innings of work. Holland struck out one and didn't walk a batter in the game. All six hits that he allowed were singles, two in each inning, but he was able to pitch his way out of trouble for the most part. While he has displayed flashes of brilliance, Holland needs to learn to limit the long ball if he wants to have sustained success at the MLB level.
