DeGrom allowed just three hits and struck out nine in eight shutout innings to pick up the win in the Mets' 2-0 victory over the Rockies on Tuesday. DeGrom was strong throughout, hitting 97 on the gun in the eighth inning. With New York watching pitch counts for their young pitchers the final month of the season, manager Terry Collins did not allow deGrom to try for a compete game.
