DeGrom (6-3) surrendered one unearned run over eight innings in Sunday's win over the Nationals, allowing three hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom encountered a bit of bad luck in the first inning, allowing a run after an error and a passed ball put Brian Goodwin in position to score in a sacrifice fly. He settled down to great effect thereafter, allowing just three singles and a pair of walks over the following seven frames. This stellar outing for deGrom came on the heels of a complete game victory over the Cubs earlier in the week -- an excellent way to rebound after he had allowed 15 runs across eight innings in his two previous starts. The right-hander's ERA has been trimmed down to a more tolerable 3.94 for the season and he will look to continue his dominance in a favorable matchup against the Giants on Friday.
