deGrom (3-3) struck out nine and allowed two runs in six hits and a walk over six innings but still took the loss Tuesday against Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
In his past two starts, both against the Pirates, deGrom has 18 strikeouts and allowed just 13 baserunners over 12 innings but still wound up with two losses. He hasn't won since April 30, but it's hard to argue with deGrom's form of late. In his last four starts, he has four quality starts with 35 strikeouts against just six walks. The Mets' depleted lineup is going to make it hard to win until reinforcements arrive, but if he keeps pitching like this, victories are inevitable.
