Davis, who is out of the lineup Wednesday, had a precautionary X-ray on his ailing left hand, but is expected to return to the lineup Friday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

The Orioles will take advantage of Thursday's off day to get Davis a couple days off before he returns to action. He left Tuesday's game with palm soreness, which he said has been bothering him since April, but it's hard to get a sense of how painful the injury is. In the meantime, Steve Pearce will start at first base and hit fifth Wednesday.
