The veteran entered the game riding a 3-for-27 slump dating back to Aug. 19, but broke out Tuesday with his first three-hit performance since July 2, and his sixth such effort of the season. Since the All-Star break, Davis' slash line has dropped significantly across the board, but there is hope entering the final month of the year. Throughout his career, Davis has been a strong finisher, slashing .293/.332/.419 in September and October, all of which are career-best marks for any month.
