Davies (8-4) pitched 6.1 quality innings, allowing two earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out five in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
The sophomore right-hander is rolling through the dog days of summer, collecting his fourth straight quality start while winning his third straight decision -- which includes victories over the NL division leaders, the Cubs and Nationals. Davies performance Thursday afternoon knocked his ERA down to a season-best 3.59 and made him 8-1 since May 10. There's a chance he's been overlooked in many leagues due to the team he plays for, but Davies has done more than enough to earn respect under any format. He draws a favorable matchup with a pathetic Padres lineup in his next start Tuesday.
