David Wright was still dealing with discomfort in his left ribcage Sunday, so the Mets have ruled him out for Monday's Grapefruit League opener. He won't play Tuesday, either. The Mets said holding Wright out of intrasquad games Saturday and Sunday was a precautionary move, but the soreness is lingering and they'll shut him down until the symptoms go away. It's way too early at this point to suggest the third baseman might not be ready for Opening Day, but we'll be tracking his progress closely. Wright is looking for a bounce-back year after being limited by a back injury last season.
