David Wright ran the bases on Wednesday for the first time since injuring his hamstring. Both Wright and the Mets believe that the veteran third baseman will return to the field this season, and this is certainly encouraging news on that front. Wright has been out since early August with a Grade 3 strain of his right hamstring. Assuming he suffers no setbacks, Wright will likely reach his goal.
