David Wright has been diagnosed with a moderate intercostal strain and is unlikely to be ready for Opening Day. The Mets will shut the third baseman down for 3-5 days before re-evaluating him. They are saying at this point that it's too early to rule out Opening Day, but it sure seems like a longshot. Barring a setback, though, he shouldn't miss too much of April. Justin Turner is the top in-house option to fill in at the hot corner until Wright is ready.
