David Wright (abdominal strain) hit in the cage Wednesday. Wright has ramped up baseball activities after receiving a cortisone shot in New York early last week. He hopes to get out on the field to see live pitching on Thursday. Mets manager Terry Collins hopes to have Wright in the lineup as soon as this weekend, though it's possible his spring debut could be pushed back to early next week. He's cutting it close, but still has enough time to be ready for Opening Day.
