David Ortiz went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a sac fly as the Red Sox beat the Mariners 11-4 on Wednesday. This ain't your father's Safeco: it was the third straight game of the series in which the winner has scored 11 runs (Seattle on Monday, Boston the last two days). Ortiz's double in the first tonight moved him past Harold Baines for first place all-time on the hits list for DHs at 1,689. He followed that up with a homer in the third. He's batting .438 with three homers in 32 at-bats this month.
