David Eckstein said he doesn't consider himself retired and would possibly return in the "right situation."
"It totally has to be the right situation, but when you say that, it's like you're disrespecting the clubs that have talked to you," Eckstein said. "This goes so much deeper than you guys will ever know." Eckstein, 36, said he had plenty of offers last offseason and was contacted by the Dodgers during spring training but simply "made a decision not to play." It's a real longshot that he would play this season, but perhaps he might get the itch next offseason.
