Darwin Barney (knee) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday at Triple-A Iowa. Barney was placed on the 15-day disabled list April 1 with a deep gash in his left knee. He has already been cleared to resume all baseball activities and is getting his stitches removed Friday. If all goes well, Barney will be in the Cubs' starting lineup early next week.
